Release 1350 Students of KKN SKIM 1, Prof. Djoko: This Is Improvement of Leadership

UNAIR NEWS – Vice Rector officially released a total of 1,350 students from Community Service Program (SKN 1) of Universitas Airlangga I Prof. Dr. Djoko Santoso, Ph.D., K-GH., FINASIM., Tuesday morning (July 2) at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C UNAIR. Community Service Program is a compulsory program followed by students towards the end of their time in college. Precisely as part of realizing the tri dharma value, which includes education, research, and service. A total of 1,350 students consisted of students from all of UNAIR faculties. They will be in Surabaya, Gresik, Lamongan, Jember, Banyuwangi, Tuban, and Bandung. For those in Bandung, KKN program is Citarum Harum and working with Kodam (Military Regional Command) 39.

UNAIR Becomes Co-Host of Asian Undergraduate Summit 2019

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is back as a partner in International Asia Undergraduate Summit (AUS) 2019 with the theme of “Leadership in a Complex World: Harnessing Untapped Potential”. The program is initiated by National University of Singapore (NUS). This is the fourth year for Universitas Airlangga to be a co-host of international events. The event will take place from Monday, July 8 to Saturday, July 13 at Campus C UNAIR. Furthermore, AUS participants reached 36 participants consisting of 10 UNAIR students and 26 students from various universities in Asia. For instance, from Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, China, and several other Asian countries.

Preparation and characterization of imprinted zeolite-Y for p-cresol removal in haemodialysis

Rumah Ginjal - In this work, the novel imprinted zeolite (IZ) was synthesized, and its properties and performance in terms of adsorption of p-Cresol, which represent the protein-bounded uremic toxins in aqueous phase under phosphate buffer saline, were studied and compared with the synthesized zeolite-Y (ZeoY-S) and commercial CBV 100 zeolite-Y (ZeoY-C).The ZeoY-S was synthesized from sodium aluminate, NaOH, H2O and SiO2 under aging for 24 h at room temperature and hydrothermal condition for 24 h at 100 °C, with an initial composition of 10SiO2:Al2O3:4Na2O:180H2O.

Determiner of Poor Sleep Quality in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Links to Elevated Diastolic Blood Pressure, hs-CRP, and Blood-count-based Inflammatory Predictors

Rumah Ginjal - BACKGROUND: Sleep deprivation is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) via sympathetic overstimulation and systemic inflammation in general population. However, the significance of poor sleep quality in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is still underexplored. METHODS: This study assessed the sleep quality of 39 with non-dialysis CKD (ND CKD) patients and 25 hemodialysis CKD (HD CKD) patients using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Poor sleeper was defined as individual with PSQI > 5.

Incorporation Of Imprinted-Zeolite To Polyethersulfone/Cellulose Acetate Membrane For Creatinine Removal In Hemodialysis Treatment

Abstract Polyethersulfon (PES) membrane has been widely used in the biomedical field especially in hemodialysis application. Many modifications of membranes have been applied into hemodialysis such as diffusion, adsorption, and mixed-matrix membrane. The main problem of those membranes is less selectivity to attract the uremic toxins. In this study, we report the modification of PES mixed with cellulose acetate (PES/CA) membrane as mixed-matrix membrane (MMM) using imprinted-zeolite (PES/CA/IZC) in order to increase the selectivity for targeted analyte. The hollow fibre membranes (HFM) were fabricated by dry-wet spinning technique.
